Emily Sanchez-Ramirez Obituary, Death – The Metro Nashville Police Department’s Traffic Unit has confirmed that Walter Daneris Zuniga, a 39-year-old native of Honduras, also known as Daneri Varela, was the driver responsible for the fatal crash on Nolensville Pike. The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening, tragically claimed the life of 10-year-old Emily Sanchez-Ramirez and critically injured her mother, Laura Ramirez-Gonzalez, as they were riding in the bike lane on an electric scooter.
Zuniga is believed to have been driving a red Nissan Sentra involved in the crash. Metro investigators issued nine warrants for his arrest on Tuesday morning, including charges of vehicular homicide by reckless conduct, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of a crash involving death, and evidence tampering.
Emily Sanchez-Ramirez succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, while her 28-year-old mother, Laura Ramirez-Gonzalez, remains in critical condition in the hospital. The red Nissan Sentra, which was damaged in the crash, was found at Zuniga’s residence on Radnor Street on Monday, thanks to a tip provided to Crime Stoppers.
