Derek Bridges Obituary, Death – A tragic accident occurred on September 28, 2024, resulting in the death of a Greenfield man on County Road 187, about 2.8 miles southwest of Dadeville in Dade County, Missouri. The crash took place at 7:07 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The incident involved a 2018 Toyota Camry driven by 53-year-old Derek Bridges of Greenfield. While traveling northbound, the vehicle veered off the left side of the road, overturned after going off a bridge, and landed upside down in a river. Bridges, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene by Dade County Coroner Gary Vanta at 7:30 p.m.

Bridges’ body was later transported to the Greenfield Funeral Chapel. Multiple agencies, including the Dade County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri Department of Conservation, Dade Fire Department, and Cox Ambulance EMS, responded to the scene to assist with the crash.

This accident marks the 82nd fatality reported by Troop D in 2024, highlighting the ongoing dangers on Missouri’s roadways.
