Dennis Decker Obituary, Death – A 44-year-old man tragically lost his life in a crash on Route 22 in Dauphin County late Sunday night. Dennis Decker, a resident of Philadelphia, sustained fatal injuries when his Hyundai Sonata collided with a concrete overpass. The accident occurred around 11:38 p.m. on Route 22 westbound at the Fishing Creek Valley exit in Middle Paxton Township, according to the Dauphin County Coroner’s Office. The coroner has ruled the death accidental.
Pennsylvania State Police reported that Decker was traveling in the left lane of Route 22 when, for reasons that remain unclear, he veered off the highway onto the left shoulder. This caused his vehicle to swerve back onto the road, where it struck a box culvert located in a grassy area off the shoulder. The impact was with the front passenger tire of the car.
The collision resulted in multiple traumatic injuries for Decker, leading to his death at the scene. The investigation into the accident continues, with authorities working to determine the exact cause of the crash and why Decker lost control of his vehicle.
