Denise Mathew, Scott Mathew Obituary, Death – Authorities have identified the individuals involved in a murder-suicide that took place in Astoria on Wednesday. The victims, a married couple, were found shot inside the office of the Bayshore Apartments, located near 1400 West Marine Drive.
Astoria police reported that the couple, 51-year-old Denise Mathew, who worked as the apartment manager, and her husband, 57-year-old Scott Mathew, were discovered by a maintenance worker. The employee had called police, reporting that the couple was lying on the floor of one of the apartment buildings and “bleeding profusely.”
According to the investigation, Scott Mathew shot and killed his wife, Denise, before taking his own life. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have asked anyone with additional information to contact Astoria police.
