Darrin Polansky Obituary, Death – Eddy County Sheriff Paul Lies identified Darrin Polansky, a 58-year-old BNSF Railway employee from Brainerd, Minnesota, as the person who died in a train-truck collision near New Rockford. The incident occurred late Monday morning when Polansky reportedly backed a track-service truck over the tracks, inadvertently moving into the path of an oncoming train. Tragically, Polansky was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the truck, Chad Chandler, 53, from Baldwin, Wisconsin, survived the crash. Chandler was taken to a nearby hospital in Carrington for medical treatment.

Sheriff Lies and local authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
