Damion Workman Obituary, Death – A 19-year-old man, identified as Damion Workman from Daniels, died early Tuesday morning, September 17, 2024, after being struck by a car while riding his bike in Raleigh County. The incident occurred just after midnight in the 1700 block of Ritter Drive in the Daniels area.

According to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene following reports of a person being hit by a vehicle. The investigation revealed that a southbound car, which was attempting to overtake a slower-moving vehicle in a designated passing zone, collided with Workman.

The impact caused the car to veer off the road, overturn, and eventually come to rest in a large drainage ditch. Fortunately, the driver of the car was not injured. Emergency responders, including units from the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department, Jan-Care Ambulance, and Ghent EMS, arrived at the scene and tried to administer medical aid to Workman. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the crash to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident. The case remains under review as authorities piece together the details of what led to the fatal collision.
