Cornelius McMullen Obituary, Death – PSP Milton responded to an incident on the 4000 block of Route 405 at 6:57 p.m. on August 28, involving a single vehicle that collided with an occupied structure. The vehicle, operated by 49-year-old Cornelius McMullen from Lewisburg, was heading south when it veered into the oncoming lane and continued for an additional 100 feet before crashing into the residence located at 4140 Route 405, ultimately coming to rest in the basement of the home.

The collision resulted in a fire within the structure, and McMullen was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police reports.

A juvenile passenger in McMullen’s vehicle was taken to Geisinger-Danville for treatment of injuries but is currently reported to be in stable condition.

The homeowner, Ronald Specht, was present during the incident but sustained no injuries, as stated by law enforcement officials.

In West Chillisquaque Township, Pennsylvania, state police have confirmed the identity of the driver involved in the tragic accident on Wednesday evening, where a vehicle crashed into an occupied residence on Route 405.

Cornelius McMullen, aged 49 from Lewisburg, succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash that took place at 6:57 p.m. on August 28, as reported by PSP Milton.

According to police, McMullen lost control of his vehicle while traveling south on Route 405, crossed into the northbound lane, and exited the roadway via the eastern shoulder. His vehicle continued south for another 100 feet before colliding with the north side of the home at 4140 State Route 405.

The vehicle ultimately came to rest in the basement of the residence, and the impact ignited a fire, leading to McMullen’s fatal injuries, as indicated by police. A young male passenger in McMullen’s vehicle was transported to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville for minor injuries and is reported to be stable.

The homeowner, Ronald Specht, was inside the house at the time of the crash but was unharmed, according to PSP Milton.

Route 405 was closed in both directions for several hours while authorities conducted their investigation into the accident.
