Christopher Liszak, Chandler Dill Obituary, Death – The Boca Raton Police Department (BRPD) released the names of the two victims killed in a shooting that took place on Friday at a hotel in Boca Raton. The victims were identified as 49-year-old Christopher Liszak and 32-year-old Chandler Dill, both from Oakland Park. The suspect, De’Vante Moss, allegedly shot and killed the two at the 365 Ocean Hotel on Ocean Boulevard, just north of Palmetto Park Road.

During a press conference, Boca Raton Police Chief Michele Miuccio, alongside Mayor Scott Singer, provided details of the incident, based on video evidence. According to the investigation, Moss was seen leaving a hotel room with a purse when a woman chased after him, leading to a physical altercation. Two other men got involved, which caused the situation to escalate. Moss then pulled out a gun and shot all three individuals.

Chief Miuccio explained that Moss first shot Dill and Liszak at close range. He then turned his gun on another man standing by a vehicle’s passenger door and shot him. Despite the man’s attempt to crawl toward the hotel, Moss pursued him and shot him in the abdomen, even as the victim raised his empty hands in surrender. Both Liszak and Dill died from their injuries, while the third victim, the other man, was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police noted that while it wasn’t clear if the individuals were friends, they appeared to know one another.

Moss, a Boynton Beach resident, was identified as the shooter. Police later spoke to Moss’s fiancée, who mentioned that he had packed a bag earlier on the day of the shooting, claiming he was headed to Jacksonville for work. However, Moss fled to Georgia, where he was apprehended by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday. He remains in Georgia as authorities work to bring him back to Palm Beach County to face charges. These include two counts of first-degree murder with a firearm and one count of attempted first-degree murder with a firearm.

Mayor Scott Singer addressed the public during the press conference, emphasizing that the tragic shooting was an isolated incident and reaffirming Boca Raton’s stance against violent crime. He stated, “Let this event be a clear reminder that Boca Raton does not tolerate crime. If you commit a crime in Boca Raton, you will be arrested, charged, and brought to justice.”
