Christina Dixon, Matthew Johnson Obituary, Death – The Allen County Coroner has officially identified the two individuals whose remains were discovered in the St. Marys River on Friday. On Tuesday, the coroner confirmed the victims as 40-year-old Christina Michelle Dixon and 41-year-old Matthew Joseph Johnson, both of Connersville.
According to the coroner’s report, both Dixon and Johnson’s deaths have been ruled as homicides. Dixon died from strangulation and suffocation, while Johnson succumbed to a combination of a gunshot wound and a stab wound.
The bodies were found near Guldlin Park, just on the edge of downtown, by volunteers cleaning up the river. The exact circumstances surrounding how Dixon and Johnson’s remains ended up in the river remain unclear, and authorities have not released any information regarding suspects or further details of the investigation.
