Chelsea Davidenas Obituary, Death – Calgary police announced that human remains were discovered northeast of Carseland, Alberta. The remains were found by the missing persons team late Thursday afternoon near Range Road 254 and Highway 901.
After working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the remains were identified as belonging to Chelsea Davidenas. The search for Davidenas had been ongoing in rural areas southeast of Chestermere over the past several days. The Calgary Search and Rescue Association assisted the police in these efforts on Thursday.
According to previous reports by CBC News, investigators believe that 29-year-old Davidenas was killed just hours after she was last seen on February 17. Her body was reportedly dumped in a rural area east of Calgary three days after her death.
Police stated that Davidenas, who was involved in Calgary’s sex trade, was targeted because of her occupation. Initially, her case was treated as a missing person investigation after her family reported her disappearance.
Two men, Steven Aaron Zwick, 26, and Paul Joseph Rushton, 52, have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with Davidenas’s death. They are accused of luring Davidenas to a house under the guise of a date.
In their news release on Friday, police stated that no additional details would be released, as the case is now before the courts.
