Preliminary findings indicate that the bus lost control for reasons still under investigation and collided head-on with the dump truck traveling eastbound on Port Tobacco Road. Investigators do not believe alcohol or drug impairment contributed to the crash.
Port Tobacco Road was closed temporarily to allow the police to conduct their investigation but has since been reopened. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation, which remains ongoing.
