Charisma Whaley Obituary, Death – A pedestrian was fatally struck while crossing a Smyrna highway early Friday morning, according to Delaware State Police. The victim, identified as 31-year-old Charisma Whaley from Wilmington, was attempting to cross South Dupont Boulevard near Spring Meadow Drive at around 5:48 a.m. when she stepped in front of a dump truck driven by a 65-year-old man from Dover.
After falling onto the road, Whaley was run over by a Ford Ranger driven by a 20-year-old woman, also from Dover. Whaley was pronounced dead at the scene, while both drivers remained unharmed. The northbound lanes of the highway were closed for over three hours during the investigation, which is still ongoing.
