Burlie Locklear Obituary, Death – An 18-year-old employee of a Waffle House in Laurinburg, North Carolina, was shot and killed during the early hours of Friday, sparking a manhunt for the suspect. The incident occurred around 12:42 a.m. at the Waffle House on Scotland Crossing Drive, where police responded to reports of gunfire.
Upon arriving, officers found the employee, identified as Burlie Locklear, suffering from a gunshot wound inside the restaurant. Emergency medical services quickly transported him to a nearby hospital, but despite efforts, Locklear later succumbed to his injuries.
The police investigation uncovered that the altercation began when the suspect became upset while waiting for his food. According to witnesses and police, the suspect grew increasingly frustrated, eventually insulting the staff members at the restaurant. After receiving his food, the suspect exited the building and began walking toward his vehicle. However, before leaving the premises, he turned around, aimed a gun at the Waffle House, and fired two shots. One of the bullets struck Locklear.
Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene. He was last observed heading along Scotland Crossing Drive in the direction of West Boulevard. Laurinburg Police have issued a warning to the public, stating that the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Police have released a detailed description of the suspect to aid in the investigation. He is described as a man with long dreadlocks and facial hair, including both a beard and mustache. His height is estimated to be between 5’8″ and 5’10”, and he weighs between 140 and 180 pounds. At the time of the incident, the suspect was reportedly wearing a dark blue pullover hoodie, blue jeans, and white shoes. Investigators also believe the suspect is driving a dark gray 2014 Chevrolet.
As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to come forward. Lt. J.
