Just before 12:45 a.m., officers from the Laurinburg Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at the restaurant, which is known for serving waffles and breakfast foods.

When officers arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene, leaving the police to investigate the tragic incident. Inside the restaurant, they discovered Locklear, who had suffered a gunshot wound.
