Brooklyn Botello Obituary, Death – The Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) has confirmed the identity of the woman who tragically lost her life when her SUV collided with a tree in Grand Rapids early Friday morning. Eighteen-year-old Brooklyn Botello was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident, which occurred along Breton Street SE, just south of 28th Street, at approximately 12:40 a.m. on August 23.

Another individual in the vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries described by GRPD as “potentially life-threatening,” though their current condition remains unknown. Both occupants required extrication from the wreckage by the Grand Rapids Fire Department.

Initially, GRPD faced challenges in identifying Botello. Preliminary investigations suggest that speed may have contributed to the accident, and inquiries are ongoing.
