Beverly Emerson Obituary, Death – A tragic car accident on Interstate 89 in Williamstown, Vermont, resulted in the death of one woman and injuries to two others, including a teenager, on Wednesday afternoon.
Vermont State Police reported receiving notifications about a single-vehicle crash near mile marker 42 on the northbound side of I-89 at approximately 3:40 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered a Subaru Legacy in a ditch on the right side of the roadway.
The front passenger, identified as 42-year-old Beverly Emerson, was found deceased at the scene. Authorities confirmed that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The driver, 38-year-old Kristopher Steponik, was also unbuckled when the accident occurred. He, along with a 15-year-old passenger in the backseat, was taken to Central Vermont Medical Center for treatment. Both Steponik and the teenager sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.
All three individuals involved in the accident hailed from Randolph, Vermont. However, police have not disclosed any information regarding their relationship to one another.
The Subaru Legacy involved in the incident was deemed a total loss following the crash.
