Austin Ly Obituary, Death – The 16-year-old student killed in a motorcycle accident in east central Fresno has been identified as Austin Ly. According to Clovis Unified School District, Ly was a student at Clovis East High School. The tragic incident occurred just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday at the intersection of Fowler and Tulare Avenue. Reports indicate that the accident happened when the driver of a car was making a turn onto Fowler.
Authorities have stated that Ly, while riding his motorcycle, ran a red light and collided with the car, which caused him to be thrown from his motorcycle. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Ly unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Police have reported that the car’s driver is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation. In response to the incident, the school district has deployed additional support resources to help students and staff cope with the loss.
