Audrey Lankey Obituary, Death – A 77-year-old woman from Hutchinson lost her life during a snowstorm-related car accident on Thursday. Authorities from the Minnesota State Patrol reported that Audrey Lankey was traveling east on State Highway 7 when her vehicle collided with a pickup truck that was heading westbound. The accident took place roughly two miles west of Hutchinson.
Road conditions were treacherous at the time, with snow and ice present, which likely contributed to the collision. The accident occurred around 10 a.m. The driver of the pickup, identified as 29-year-old Matthew Alberts from Eden Prairie, sustained injuries but was not in critical condition. He was transported to a nearby hospital in Hutchinson, where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by hazardous winter driving conditions. Snow and ice can severely reduce traction and visibility, making even short trips risky. With Minnesota’s winter season setting in, authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution and prepare their vehicles for icy roads.
