Arthur Knight Acosta, Jefferson Taylor Duggins Obituary, Death – A 42-year-old man from Fayetteville, Desmund Louis Moore, is wanted on murder charges in connection with a fatal shooting that claimed the lives of two men on Tuesday. The incident took place outside a residence on Yarborough Road, located near Hope Mills in Fayetteville.
The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 9-1-1 call was received shortly after 11 a.m. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered two men who had been shot. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims have been identified as 21-year-old Arthur Knight Acosta and 32-year-old Jefferson Taylor Duggins. Investigators have not yet provided details regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting, and it remains unclear what triggered the violent altercation.
As part of their investigation, authorities focused on a work truck with shattered glass that was found near the home on Yarborough Road, suggesting that it may play a role in understanding the events leading up to the shooting.
Moore has been charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Acosta and Duggins. However, investigators have not yet disclosed whether Moore had any prior relationship with the victims or how he might have known them, if at all.
