Anthony Catalfomo Obituary, Death – South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers provided updated details on a fatal crash involving a bicyclist in Williamston, Anderson County. The victim has been identified as 59-year-old Anthony Catalfomo of Williamston, according to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore.
The incident occurred on August 21, around 6:15 p.m., when a 911 call reported that Catalfomo had been struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle on Firetower Road near Mountain View Road. Catalfomo was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries just after 1:30 p.m. the following day.
Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway explained that a 2011 Ford SUV traveling westbound on Firetower Road veered across the center line and collided head-on with the bicyclist. The coroner ruled Catalfomo’s death as accidental.
The driver of the SUV was unharmed in the crash.
