Angel Aleman, Lydia Hernandez Obituary, Death – The Lubbock Police Department has released the names of the victims in a double shooting that occurred at Mackenzie Park. The deceased individuals have been identified as 55-year-old Angel Aleman and 47-year-old Lydia Hernandez. Officers responded to the scene, located in the 300 block of Cesar E. Chavez Drive, at around 8:18 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, following reports of gunfire. According to the Lubbock Police Department (LPD), this was an isolated incident.
Upon arrival, police discovered Aleman on the ground and pronounced him dead at the scene. Hernandez was found with severe injuries and was transported to University Medical Center by emergency medical services (EMS). Despite efforts to save her, Hernandez succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
In addition to the human casualties, a dog belonging to Aleman was also found dead at the scene. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The Lubbock Texas Anti-Gang Unit and the LPD Forensic Unit have joined the investigation to help process the crime scene and gather evidence.
