Amy Roeder Obituary, Death – A tragic three-vehicle crash near Woodstock, Illinois, on Sunday afternoon claimed three lives, including Amy Roeder, a 47-year-old school aide for Woodstock School District 200. Roeder, a teacher at Westwood Elementary School, was remembered as a valuable contributor to the school community, both as an employee and a highly involved parent, according to District 200 spokesperson Kevin Lyons.

The collision occurred around noon on Davis Road, west of Dean Street, when a 2021 Dodge Challenger Hellcat attempted to illegally pass a 2021 Jeep Wrangler in a marked no-passing zone. While attempting to pass, the Hellcat collided with an oncoming 2022 Volvo XC90, which Roeder was driving, at the top of a hill crest. The impact forced the Volvo off the south side of the road, while the Hellcat spun out, veering off to the north side of the road before catching fire.

The two occupants of the Hellcat died at the scene, though authorities have not yet confirmed their identities. Roeder also died on impact, while her daughter, a 7th-grade student at another school in the district, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center for treatment.

The incident remains under investigation by authorities as the community mourns Roeder’s loss and rallies around her injured daughter.
