Amber Rainey, Christa Brodigan Obituary, Death – Police have released the identities of the two women who were killed in a head-on collision in the Northland on Sunday night. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department confirmed that 36-year-old Amber Rainey and 33-year-old Christa Brodigan lost their lives in the tragic accident, which occurred on Parvin Road on September 1.
The crash took place shortly before 8:30 p.m. when a silver Mitsubishi Outlander, with two passengers under the age of 18, was speeding east on Parvin Road. For reasons that are still unclear, the vehicle crossed the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a blue Ford Transit van traveling west.
Amber Rainey, who was driving the Mitsubishi, died at the scene of the crash. Christa Brodigan, the driver of the Ford, was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
This incident marked the 65th and 66th traffic fatalities in Kansas City, Missouri, for the year. The two juvenile passengers in the Mitsubishi were taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
