Alfredo Rodrequz Ruiz Obituary, Death – A man passed away at UAB Hospital on Thursday after being shot days earlier in Birmingham. According to the Birmingham Police Department, the shooting occurred on August 30 in the 4100 block of 46th Avenue North. The victim, identified as 41-year-old Alfredo Rodrequz Ruiz from Alabaster, was found injured on the 4400 block of 41st Place North.
After being shot, Ruiz managed to walk to a nearby home, where he knocked on the door before collapsing. The homeowner immediately called 911, and Birmingham Fire and Rescue transported Ruiz to UAB Hospital for medical treatment. Despite efforts to save him, Ruiz succumbed to his injuries on September 5, passing away at 12:41 p.m.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has confirmed Ruiz’s identity and is now seeking help in locating his family members. Authorities are asking anyone with information about Ruiz’s family to contact the coroner’s office at 205-930-3603.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
