Aaron Slaughter Obituary, Death – The Iowa State Patrol has released details surrounding a fatal accident that took place in rural West Liberty. Authorities identified the victim as 24-year-old Aaron Slaughter, who lost his life in a single-vehicle crash last week.
Slaughter was a passenger in a 2006 Chevy pickup truck driven by 23-year-old Garrett Love of Lone Tree. The incident occurred early on Wednesday morning as the vehicle was traveling north along the 1200 block of Elder Avenue, located just west of West Liberty. At some point, the truck failed to navigate a curve properly, leading to a tragic outcome.
The vehicle flipped multiple times before it finally came to a stop in a nearby soybean field. Slaughter was partially ejected from the vehicle during the rollover and was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The two other occupants of the truck, including the driver Love and another passenger, 18-year-old Adrianna Timmerman from Wapello, sustained injuries in the crash. Both were transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for medical treatment.
