Ervin Barton Obituary, Death – The victim of a shooting at a Sparks apartment complex has been identified as 45-year-old Ervin Barton, a resident of Sparks. Barton was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Renown Regional Medical Center on Saturday night. According to the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office, his death has been ruled a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.
The Sparks Police Department is currently leading the investigation into the incident. Authorities reported that the shooting took place on November 2 at approximately 10:30 p.m. and involved an altercation between Barton and another man. During this dispute, one of the men fired shots.
After the shooting, the individual involved left the scene but subsequently called 911 to report the incident. Police indicated that this man is cooperating with the investigation. They also stated that there are no outstanding suspects and that there is no ongoing threat to the community related to the shooting.
