Scarleth Ramnarine Obituary, Death – The Department of Public Safety has identified Scarleth Ramnarine, a 54-year-old resident of West Jordan, as the victim of a fatal crash that took place on SR-96. The incident occurred around 1:10 p.m. on October 29, when a Ford pickup truck was traveling westbound on SR-96. Near milepost 17, the driver of the pickup reportedly lost control due to icy road conditions, causing the truck to veer into the eastbound lane, where it collided head-on with an oncoming semi-truck.

The driver of the Ford pickup survived with non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The semi-truck driver also received medical care and was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.
