Arlen Brown Obituary, Death – A fatal crash on Interstate 95 in New Hampshire resulted in the death of a Maine man and left a Maine woman seriously injured, according to New Hampshire State Police. The collision occurred around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on the northbound side of I-95 in Portsmouth, near the Route 16 North split.
Authorities reported that the incident happened when a Ford Escape, traveling southbound, croer of the Ford, 68-year-old Arlen Brown from Sabattus, Maine, was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Jessica Emerson, a 25-year-old from Berwick, Maine, was driving the Toyota and sustained serious injuries that, while significant, were not considered life-threatening. She was also taken to the hospital for medical attention.
There were no passengers in either vehicle, and the crash resulted in the closure of all northbound lanes on I-95 in Portsmouth for about two hours. New Hampshire State Police are actively investigating the cause of the crash.
