Priscilla Jones Obituary, Death – California Highway Patrol (CHP) is investigating a tragic crash that occurred early Monday morning, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The incident took place at approximately 12:33 a.m. on Highway 25, south of Bloomfield Avenue. The CHP Monterey Communications Center received an alert from an iPhone regarding a possible crash in that area.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two vehicles blocking the roadway, and both drivers were found unresponsive. The investigation revealed that a 24-year-old man from Gilroy was driving a 2018 Nissan Sentra southbound on Highway 25, while a 35-year-old woman was in a 2012 Dodge Charger heading northbound on the same highway.
One of the victims was identified as Priscilla Jones, a 35-year-old 911 dispatcher for Santa Clara County, who was also a devoted wife and mother. Alongside her husband, she co-owned a small business called MMM… Churros in Hollister, which also has a location at the Northridge Mall in Salinas.
According to CHP, the cause of the crash remains under investigation. Preliminary findings indicated that the Nissan unexpectedly swerved into the northbound lane, crossing over the double yellow lines. This maneuver led to a head-on collision between the two vehicles. Unfortunately, both drivers sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
In the aftermath of the incident, Highway 25 was closed for approximately five hours to allow officers to conduct a thorough investigation. At this time, authorities have not determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
The local community is mourning the loss of Jones, and a candlelight vigil has been planned at her residence located at 1521 Lily Court in Hollister, set for 8 p.m. Monday. The gathering is expected to honor her memory and provide support to her family during this difficult time.
