Michael K. Fayad Obituary, Death – A tragic accident late Friday night on Route 19 in North Strabane Township resulted in the death of 51-year-old Michael K. Fayad from Oakdale in Allegheny County. According to the Washington County Coroner’s office, Fayad was in a vehicle stopped in the left-turn lane on Washington Road (Route 19), preparing to turn onto Demar Boulevard. Around 11 p.m., a northbound vehicle veered into the turning lane at a high speed, colliding with the rear of Fayad’s car. The crash triggered a chain reaction, propelling Fayad’s vehicle into another car in oncoming traffic. Despite wearing his seatbelt, Fayad was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after midnight.

North Strabane Fire Chief Rich Yosi stated that multiple vehicles and five to six individuals were involved in the incident. The passenger in Fayad’s car was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, while another individual was airlifted from the scene. All individuals involved received medical evaluation, and emergency responders cleared debris and fluids from the area.

The North Strabane Township Police Department is investigating the accident, which led to a four to five-hour road closure. Additional responders included Ambulance and Chair Service, Canonsburg Ambulance, Lifeflight, the South Strabane Fire Department, and the Pennsylvania State Police collision reconstruction unit. The cause of Fayad’s death is pending an autopsy, and the manner of death remains under investigation.
