On Friday, October 18, law enforcement responded to reports of gunfire near Southside High School in Selma at approximately 11 p.m. Officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound in the vicinity of Water Avenue and Broad Street. The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Devante Tashon Hall from Birmingham, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators found that the shooting initially occurred in the parking lot of Southside High School. The sheriff’s office is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
