The man has been named as 23-year-old Jakele Allen, a resident of Northeast D.C., according to an update provided by the police.
The shooting took place on Monday, October 21, at approximately 9:44 a.m. Police were dispatched to the area of 16th Street and Kentucky Avenue after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Allen suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was found unconscious and not breathing.
Despite the best efforts of emergency medical personnel, who performed several life-saving procedures on Allen, he tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
