Patrick Dixon Jr. Obituary, Death – The Fresno Police Department has identified the victim of a shooting that occurred Sunday night in southwest Fresno, during which 59 rounds were fired. The victim has been named as 35-year-old Patrick Dixon Jr.
Police responded to reports of gunfire at 10:49 p.m. after multiple ShotSpotter activations were detected in the vicinity of Myers Street and Arthur Avenue. The ShotSpotter system recorded three distinct instances of gunfire: the first involved 44 rounds, followed by a discharge of 13 rounds, and finally, two additional rounds, culminating in a total of 59 shots fired.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered Dixon in the backyard of a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was promptly transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
In addition to the tragic loss of Dixon, the shooting also resulted in damage to two vehicles and a nearby home, further underscoring the violence of the incident. The police have since launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and to identify any suspects involved.
