James Shuler Obituary, Death – A house fire early Wednesday morning at 1014 W. High St. has resulted in the death of a 64-year-old man, identified as James Shuler. Lima Fire Chief Jack McDermitt reported that the fire was ruled accidental and caused enough damage to require the home to be demolished. At the time of the incident, James was the only person inside the residence.
The property was owned by James’s son, Jeremy Shuler, who lives next door. In addition to the tragic loss of life, Jeremy’s family experienced significant damage to their home and also lost a van in the fire. To support Jeremy and his family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe campaign has been initiated, and plans are underway for a benefit event to be held in the future.
