Justin Paul Dorriety Obituary, Death – A tragic single-vehicle crash in Charles City County resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man on Wednesday morning. The Virginia State Police reported that they received calls about the accident shortly before 8 a.m. The incident occurred on Route 5, also known as the John Tyler Memorial Highway, near Route 623.
The driver involved in the crash was identified as Justin Paul Dorriety, a resident of Hopewell. According to police, Dorriety was operating a 2017 Ford Fusion traveling westbound on Route 5 when the accident happened. Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway. It then struck several trees and a culvert before overturning and hitting additional trees.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, Dorriety succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the site of the crash.
