Sunday Ogunjimi Obituary, Death – The Kane County Coroner’s Office has named the victim of a fatal stabbing in Elgin as 36-year-old Sunday Ogunjimi. Preliminary autopsy results indicate that Ogunjimi died from a stab wound.
Emergency services were dispatched to the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue in Elgin around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found Ogunjimi suffering from a stab wound to his torso. He was transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, where he was later pronounced dead.
In connection with the stabbing, 21-year-old Anderson Contreras, residing on the 700 block of Dundee Avenue in Elgin, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm, according to prosecutors.
