Michael Barksdale Sr Obituary, Death – Police have identified the victim of a shooting that occurred outside his home in northeast Rochester on Tuesday. The deceased man has been named as 60-year-old Michael Barksdale Sr. Capt. Frank Umbrino from the Rochester Police Department reported that Barksdale was shot multiple times while working on a vehicle in his driveway on Sixth Street, close to Bay Street. After being struck by gunfire, he was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
As of now, the motive for the shooting remains unclear, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. This tragic event marks the 45th homicide recorded in Rochester for the year 2024, according to the Rochester Police Department’s Open Data Portal.
