Paul Adams Obituary, Death – A man who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Midland Park on Friday night has been identified as 70-year-old Paul Adams from Wyckoff. The incident occurred on Godwin Avenue at approximately 7:09 p.m., according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Following a 911 call reporting that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle, officers from the Midland Park Police Department responded to the scene. Adams was found injured and was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators revealed that the vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene. This incident marks the second hit-and-run in Bergen County within two days, both resulting in the death of a male pedestrian.
In response to rising concerns about pedestrian safety, Bergen County had previously unveiled an “action plan” in August aimed at reducing fatalities on local roads.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit is currently looking into the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash to reach out to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Tips line at (201) 226-5532.
Prosecutor Mark Musella expressed gratitude to the Midland Park Police Department and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for their support in the investigation. He also acknowledged the contributions of the Tenafly and Paramus police departments, which are part of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Task Force.
