Alex Folnagy Obituary, Death – A Somerset man has been identified as the driver who lost his life in a head-on collision that occurred in Franklin Township on Tuesday. The victim, Alex Folnagy, 31, was confirmed deceased by Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald on Wednesday.
The tragic accident took place on October 15 at approximately 7:24 a.m. when a 911 call was placed reporting a head-on crash on Amwell Road near South Middlebush Road in Franklin. Upon arrival, authorities found Folnagy to be the driver and only occupant of a 2010 white Nissan Altima. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the other vehicle involved, a 2018 red Jeep Wrangler, both the driver and passenger suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
The investigation into the factors that contributed to the collision is currently being conducted by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team in conjunction with the Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau.
