Shannon Hubbard Obituary, Death – A tragic house fire over the weekend claimed the lives of a Cape Cod woman and her one-year-old daughter in a rural area of Upstate New York, according to a statement from the New York State Police. The victims were identified as Shannon Hubbard, a 35-year-old woman from Brewster, Massachusetts, and her infant daughter. Hubbard was also recognized by the Cape Cod Chronicle as a teacher at Chatham Elementary School.

The fire occurred on Sunday night in Clinton, a small town in New York, specifically on Clinton Hollow Road. Emergency responders were called to the scene by someone who was outside of the home at the time of the fire. However, due to the severity of the situation, firefighters were initially unable to enter the burning house until reinforcements from a neighboring fire department arrived to provide mutual aid.

Once additional firefighters were on the scene, emergency personnel worked to rescue those trapped inside the home. Shannon Hubbard and her two children were eventually brought out of the house by responders. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Hubbard and her one-year-old daughter succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at separate hospitals.

A 39-year-old man, along with a three-year-old boy, also involved in the fire, were transported to Westchester Medical Center. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.

As of now, the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, and authorities are continuing their efforts to determine how the fire started. This heartbreaking incident has left the local community and those connected to Hubbard deeply saddened, as they mourn the loss of a mother and her young child.

Emergency services and investigators are working to uncover more details about the incident, while family members and friends of the victims come to terms with the devastating loss. The fire has raised awareness of fire safety in rural areas, where emergency response times and access to resources can sometimes pose challenges during critical situations like house fires.
