Alexander Zavaleta Obituary, Death – The Oconee County Coroner’s Office reported that an 18-year-old has died as a result of an apartment fire in Westminster on Friday afternoon. Emergency crews received the call at 1:53 p.m. regarding the fire at an apartment complex located on South Spring Street. Upon entering the residence, they discovered the victim, identified as Alexander “Alex” Zavaleta, unresponsive on the kitchen floor.
Despite efforts to revive him through CPR and other resuscitation measures, the attempts were unsuccessful, and Zavaleta was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, with the Westminster Fire Department and the Westminster Police Department leading the inquiry, supported by SLED Fire Investigations.
