Riley M. Pipes Obituary, Death – A tragic single-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning led to one fatality and multiple injuries on County Road 807, near the 474 address marker in Osage County, Missouri. The incident occurred around 1:10 a.m. on October 9, 2024, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The accident involved a 2007 Jeep Wrangler that was heading northbound, driven by 20-year-old Nathan L. Timpe from Centralia, Missouri. The vehicle veered off the right side of the road, overturned, and collided with three trees. During the crash, one occupant was ejected from the vehicle.
Tragically, 19-year-old Riley M. Pipes from Fulton, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene by Osage County Coroner AJ Probst at 1:15 a.m. It was noted that Pipes was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, and his body was subsequently transported to Morton Funeral Home.
Several other passengers in the Jeep Wrangler experienced varying degrees of injury:
– Braden M. Halter, 18, from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital for treatment.
– Kyle R. Burris, 20, from St. Peters, Missouri, sustained minor injuries and declined treatment at the scene.
– Jacob Stoner, 20, from Congerville, Illinois, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Capital Region Medical Center for care.
The Jeep Wrangler incurred significant damage from the crash and was subsequently towed by 4J’s Towing.
Authorities from the Osage County Sheriff’s Department were on-site to assist with the incident. This unfortunate crash marks the first fatality reported by Troop F in October and the 37th fatality in the region for the year 2024. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is ongoing as officials seek to determine the factors that led to this tragic event.
