Dinora Aleman Amaya Obituary, Death – Montgomery County police have identified the woman killed in a pedestrian collision on Monday night as 30-year-old Dinora Aleman Amaya from Germantown. According to authorities, the incident occurred around 9:18 p.m. when Amaya was struck by a 2019 Honda Civic traveling southbound on Great Seneca Highway, nearing Kentlands Boulevard.

Amaya was attempting to cross the highway towards Orchard Ridge Road when the vehicle hit her. The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, as confirmed by police in a statement.

Emergency responders, including county police, Gaithersburg city police, and personnel from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS), were dispatched to the location of the accident. Despite the medical assistance provided by MCFRS crews, Amaya was pronounced dead at the scene.

This tragic incident occurred just a week after another pedestrian, 53-year-old Dominique Mwepu, was killed in a separate collision in Gaithersburg. Following the crash involving Amaya, police temporarily closed Great Seneca Highway at both Quince Orchard Boulevard and Lakelands Drive to conduct their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
