Ruth Emel Obituary, Death – The coroner is seeking public help to locate the next of kin for a 72-year-old woman who was recently struck and killed by a vehicle.
The accident occurred on October 2, around 5 p.m. on West Market Street when Ruth “Helen” Emel was hit by a car turning onto the road from North Penn Street, according to the coroner’s report. At the time of the incident, Emel was in the crosswalk.
Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on Saturday at approximately 4:47 p.m. Emel had been residing in York City on the 300 block of West Market Street.
The coroner’s office is urging anyone who may know of her next of kin to reach out and provide information.
