Stacey Sutphin Obituary, Death – An investigation is ongoing following a fatal two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of one person Monday morning in Boone County. Deputies from the Boone County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to the crash shortly after 10:30 a.m. near the area of 8800 West 300 South, after receiving multiple reports about a serious accident.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the crash involved a pickup truck and a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV). According to preliminary details provided by BCSO, both vehicles were traveling westbound on County Road 300 South at the time of the accident. The incident occurred when the UTV attempted to turn into a nearby farm while the pickup truck was in the process of passing it from behind.

At that moment, the pickup truck collided with the UTV. The driver of the UTV, identified as 61-year-old Stacey Sutphin from Jamestown, was seriously injured and rushed to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, whose name has not been released, was not injured in the crash. According to BCSO, they remained at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators.

The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team also responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Authorities are continuing to look into the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
