Nidia N eblina Obituary, Death – Salinas police are investigating the city’s sixth vehicle-related fatality of the year following a tragic rollover crash on Old Stage Road late Wednesday night. At approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the scene of a rollover involving a GMC SUV near the 800 block of the road.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as 31-year-old Nidia Neblina, a resident of Salinas. Authorities believe Neblina’s SUV flipped multiple times, and the force of the crash ejected her from the vehicle. Although life-saving measures were attempted, Neblina tragically succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Preliminary investigations by the Salinas Police Department point to excessive speed as a major contributing factor to the accident. However, police confirmed that there was no indication of drug or alcohol involvement in the crash.
