Lacee Kelly Obituary, Death – Police have identified the woman killed in a tragic auto-pedestrian crash in Salt Lake City as 46-year-old Lacee Kelly. The incident occurred just before noon on Wednesday, in the East Central neighborhood near 740 South and 700 East.
According to the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD), Kelly was walking on a sidewalk when a northbound vehicle on 700 East lost control. The vehicle collided with a parked car, which was pushed into Kelly, pinning her between the car and a nearby fence. Unfortunately, paramedics pronounced Kelly dead at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, a 57-year-old man, had fallen asleep at the wheel, leading to the loss of control. Police confirmed that there were no signs of impairment, and the driver cooperated fully with authorities. No arrests have been made.
The SLCPD’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Team continues to investigate the crash, but no additional details have been released at this time.
