Lacey Tidswell Obituary, Death – Maine State Police have identified the woman whose body was discovered in a house that caught fire in the town of Mexico on September 26. The victim has been named as 23-year-old Lacey Tidswell, a local resident. However, authorities have not yet confirmed whether she died as a result of the fire. According to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, the cause and manner of Tidswell’s death are still under investigation, and further details are not being released at this time.
The fire was reported on the morning of September 26 when Oxford County emergency dispatch received a 911 call around 7:09 a.m., alerting them to the blaze at 5 Tucker Street in Mexico. Both Maine State Police and the state fire marshal’s office had previously issued a joint news release about the incident.
Emergency responders arrived while the fire was still active, mainly concentrated on the front porch of the home. Firefighters quickly sprang into action and were able to rescue one woman from the house using a ladder. Fortunately, she was unharmed in the incident.
After extinguishing the fire, firefighters discovered the body of another woman inside the house. It was later determined to be Lacey Tidswell. Although Tidswell’s body was found in the burnt house, officials are being cautious about stating the cause of her death until further investigations provide more clarity.
