Austin Stanek Obituary, Death – A 24-year-old man died following a hit-and-run collision on Friday night near Island Lake, according to authorities. The incident occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. in the 4300 block of Roberts Road in unincorporated Island Lake.
The victim, identified as Austin Stanek of Island Lake, was struck by a vehicle and subsequently transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
An autopsy conducted by the Lake County Coroner’s Office revealed that Stanek died from blunt force injuries sustained during the crash.
