Cody Johnson Obituary, Death – Authorities are seeking public assistance regarding the shooting death of a 19-year-old resident from Missouri City, which occurred last Friday. On Sunday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) identified the victim as Cody Johnson, 19, who was killed in what is suspected to be a road rage shooting that took place on Friday night.

According to the HCSO, deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 23600 block of Katy Freeway around 8 p.m. Upon their arrival, deputies found an unresponsive male with gunshot wounds. Johnson was subsequently transported by Life Flight to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez provided additional details about the incident on social media Sunday evening. He mentioned that Johnson was driving a 2011 black Camaro with gold rims at the time of the shooting and suggested that the incident might have stemmed from a road rage altercation.

Sheriff Gonzalez urged anyone who may have information about the case to contact the HCSO Homicide Division at 713-274-9100 or reach out to Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.

Johnson had recently graduated from Ridge Point High School earlier this year and was a former member of the school’s baseball team. Family members shared with ABC13 that Johnson was en route to visit his girlfriend in Katy when the shooting occurred.
